Full gut Bathroom renovation in Holbrook, New York
Accessible Remodeling worked in Holbrook, NY to complete a full gut bathroom renovation that remodeled the entire space to meet the homeowner's specific needs. This project focused on improved safety, accessible features, and a clean, durable shower enclosure built to last.
The customer wanted a large corner bench, a custom shower pan and niche, and secure grab bars for safer entry and exit from the shower. We designed the layout around those requests so the bench and niche are placed where they are most useful. The result is a shower that feels stable and practical for everyday use.
For the shower enclosure we used Schluter waterproofing materials. Schluter is one of the best systems on the market for creating a fully waterproof shower, so we specified it to protect the structure and prevent long-term moisture problems. The Schluter system was applied across the shower walls and pan to create a continuous waterproof layer before finishing the interior.
The custom shower pan was formed to work with the large corner bench and to provide proper drainage. The shower niche was built to provide convenient storage for soaps and shampoos without disrupting the waterproofing. Grab bars were installed at the points of entry and near the bench to add confidence when standing, sitting, or moving in and out of the shower.
In addition to the shower work, we installed a double vanity sink to give the household more counter and storage space. A double vanity helps two people use the bathroom at the same time, which is practical for busy mornings and adds lasting functionality to the room.
We also installed an ADA toilet with a bidet, chosen to improve accessibility and personal comfort. The ADA toilet meets standard accessibility requirements and the bidet adds hygiene and convenience. These fixtures were selected to match the homeowner's request for safer, more user-friendly features throughout the bathroom.
Throughout the renovation we kept the project focused on the owner's priorities. The full gut approach allowed us to integrate the bench, pan, niche, grab bars, double vanity, and ADA toilet into a single, cohesive design. Using Schluter waterproofing provided a reliable foundation for the wet areas of the room.
Accessible Remodeling did this job in Holbrook, NY and completed the work to deliver a bathroom that addresses safety, accessibility, and everyday convenience. The updated layout and materials give the homeowner a practical, durable bathroom tailored to their needs.
